Believe, Girls Hockey Jamboree

The Junior Crusaders are excited to announce that we will once again be hosting the Believe, All Girls Hockey Jamboree.

In 2020, the Junior Crusaders created the U8 all girls hockey jamboree to celebrate their inaugural season. U8 girls teams from around Southern New England gathered for an amazing day of hockey at the newly renovated Hart Center Ice Arena on the campus of the College of the Holy Cross. Participating teams were joined on the ice by players from the Holy Cross Women’s Division 1 hockey team. There were raffles, prizes, music and lots of fun. We received fabulous feedback from all of the teams and lasting memories were made by players and families.

BELIEVE is about creating a mindset in our girls that all of their dreams are within reach and accessible. In that spirit and through the generosity of our donors, we are pleased to keep our registration fees low.

• All games will be played in a half-ice format
• Two Divisions (DREAM and WISH) based on team skill level 
• Two half ice games will run simultaneously on the same sheet. One Game per side.
• Blue Pucks and Intermediate Nets will be used for all games
• Game time will be 20 minute running time
• Games will be played 4 vs. 4 plus one goalie per team.
• One on-ice official (Holy Cross Women’s Player Volunteer) per each half-ice game. 
• Coaches will record, verify, and submit scores to score keeper after each game. Win (2) points, Tie (1) point, Loss (0) points. Goal differential to be used to break ties in standings.
• Final game will take place based on standings for the 1st and 2nd place teams in each division.
• Game scores will not be displayed on scoreboard. The scoreboard will only be used to track time.
• Benches will be utilized by both teams. Each team will have its own door to operate for line changes. Line change will occur every 2 minutes on buzzer.
• The whistle will blow if a goalie covers puck. At that time the offensive players must immediately clear the zone/area and allow the defensive players to take the puck out so play can resume. No face off will occur.
• Apart from face-offs, play will be continuous. Face offs will only occur at the start of game, when a puck goes out of play, for an injured player or after a goal is scored. Face offs will be held in the middle of the ice.
• Only obvious/clear infraction will be called for the purpose of learning the game. Penalties will not be served. No power plays, no penalty kills. The on-ice official will alert the penalized player and coach of the infraction and the player will be substituted for another player. Opposing team will be award the puck & play will continue during the player substitution.
• All players must be in full equipment and teams must be ready to take the ice 15 minutes before the start of the games.
